Psalm 37:28-29

28 For the Lord loves justice,

And does not forsake His saints;

They are preserved forever,

But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. 29 The righteous shall inherit the land,

And dwell in it forever.

Quickword: A God of Justice

In Psalms 37, the Psalmist throughout contrast good and evil, righteousness and unrighteousness, justice and the unjust. Here in the 28th and 29th verses, the Psalmist simply declares that the Lord loves justice. The results of the Lord’s love of justice reflect in the fact that:

- The Lord does not forsake His Saints and they are preserved forever.

- The descendants of the wicked shall be cut off

- The righteous shall inherit the land and dwell in it forever.

As believers in the Lord who loves justice, we must wait patiently and remain faithful. Earlier verses in this Psalm declare starting in vs 10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth,

And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. My brothers and my sisters, take a posture of humble submission unto the Lord and the Lord will do the rest.

Let’s Oray: Dear God in Heaven, we acknowledge even now that you are the sovereign Lord. God you control the rising of the sun and the going down of the same. Your word declares that you love justice and that the righteous will prevail and be preserved. God, we stand on your word no matter what may come in the days, weeks and months ahead, for you are God who is the same yesterday, today and forever. God we give your name the honor and glory in Christ Jesus name we pray. Amen
