Matthew 9:20-21

20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.”

Quickword: A Made Up Mind!

In this very familiar narrative, we find a woman who has been hemorrhaging blood for 12 years. We can deduce as a result of her condition that desperation is setting in. There is no mention of family support, we can surmise after 12 years her resources to support herself are depleted. Thankfully many of us will never feel this kind of desperation, but if we do, I pray like this women in the text, that you will make up your mind and come to Jesus!

Situations in our lives can cause us to move suddenly…

Situations in our lives can lead to us taking actions for our wellbeing..

Situations in our lives can cause us to activate our Faith with a made up mind…

This sister in the text made up her mind that she had suffered long enough. She made up her mind that if she could just touch the hem of his garments she would be made whole. She made up her mind that she would activate her faith that in spite of the cultural norms of that day. The question I posed this morning is have you made up your mind to come to Jesus? Maybe you have not been in your situation for 12 years but you too like the woman have suffered long and spent your resources. If you have made up your mind that you want to be made whole you don’t have to reach for the hem of his garment but you can call his name. His name is Jesus; in His name is healing, in his name are provisions, in His name is name is Salvation. I have made up my mind that I’m going to stick and stay with Jesus no matter the vicissitudes of life. Have you made up your mind to the point that you’re willing to activate your faith and trust Him for your every need?
