An Empty Tomb

Mark 16: 6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.

The cornerstone of our Faith is built on the belief that Jesus the Son of God was crucified on Calvary’s cross for the sins of the world. Some women who had been followers of Jesus made their way to the tomb after the sabbath day to anoint his body. They were concerned about how they would remove the stone that had been placed at the tomb to keep people out. Yet when they got to the tomb, the stone was rolled away. A young man sitting at the empty tomb said to the women; do not be alarmed, you are looking for Jesus, he is not here:

Beloved it, some 2000 years later many of us are living as if Jesus is not alive, sitting a the right hand of the father advocating on our behalf. This morning I just want to remind you:

- Jesus is the risen Savior

- Jesus still has all power in his hand

- Jesus vacated the tomb and now sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.

The good news today is just a reminder that the tomb is still empty. Jesus is positioned in Heaven interceding on our behalf to God. He knows where we are, He knows what we are going through, He knows what we need. The tomb is empty, today regardless of our life situations, we can echo the sentiments of the psalmist and look to the hills from whence cometh our help. Our help comes from the Lord. If you are still searching for him at the time, he is not there, for he is risen! The tomb is empty!
