Psalms 1:1

Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the [a]ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

To be blessed is to be happy, the psalmist introduces us to the basic concepts of being happy. The first is to not walk in the counsel of the ungodly (persons who are not influenced by God). The second is to not stand in the paths of sinners (those who add to ungodly transgressions and lastly, to not sit in the seat of the scornful (those who make a mockery of anything sacred). The blessings of walking with God is that we don’t make time to walk with the ungodly, stand with sinners or sit with the scornful. The blessings for mankind is not to become comfortable in the trap of sin. First we walk with sin, then we stand with sin and then we sit with sin.

Bless is the man who chooses to walk with God in our human frailties, we strive to stand with God and sits with God. The Good news is that God is ready to walk, stand and sit with us whenever we are ready. Blessed is the man who recognizes we need the power and presence of God!!!
