John 9:1-5

1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.

2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

4 I[a]must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.

5 As long as I am in the world,I am the light of the world.”

Quickword: Conditions designed to bring God Glory pt 1.

As we continue to move through the gospel according to John, we encounter this narrative of a man born blind. As Jesus was passing by, he saw a man born blind, His disciples asked Jesus who sin, was it the man or his parents that caused this condition. Jesus replied neither this man nor his parents sinned but the works of God should be revealed in him.

- There are times even as believers we search to understand the reasons behind frail human conditions.

- In our human understanding, there must be some cause and effect that leads to less than optical conditions

- There are some conditions that are designed to give God glory.

Here in the text, Jesus immediately informs his disciples that this man condition of blindness is not a result of his sins or his parents sins. He further tells them, this condition exists so that the works of God might be revealed through this man. There are times that we go through trials and tribulations and the only way we make it through is by the hand of God. Notice that this question of the man’s condition comes not from the world but from the disciples of Jesus. It’s my belief that there are conditions that are designed to demonstrate the power and presence of God. As we look at part 2 of this text tomorrow, I pray that the move of God through the impaired conditions of our lives will become clearer and a source of encouragement.
