Psalms 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Quickword: Continual Praise

This Psalm is believed to be authored by David as he is under attack from King Saul. This Psalm provides for us an example of what we should do when we are in distress. Yet in doing so it also gives us direction in how we should function during periods of Joy. This psalm of David offers to us a formula for dealing with the seasons in our lives and that formula is Continual Praise!

- When we are faced with the challenges of life, give God praise!

- When we are in a season of prosperity, give God Praise!

- Regardless of what we are experiencing, give God Praise! Praise is Personal!

The psalmist opens this text stating that I will bless the Lord. My Brothers and Sisters, praise is a mindset that individually we have the opportunity to exercise. I know from personal experience that the ups and downs of life can be challenging. This morning regardless of what you may be going through sickness, grief, frustration, etc, give God praise. On the other end of the spectrum, if all is going well in your life give God the praise for his goodness. If you are somewhere in the middle, a mixture of joy and pain, give God Praise. There is power in praising God! The old Saints proclaimed when praises go up, blessings come down. So today I’ve made up my mind to offer continual praise. Can I let you end on a little secret, every time I lift up His name and give God praise, I feel better! I believe you will too.
