Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Divine Disruptions..
Yesterday, I saw one of the members of the church where I currently serve on staff from a distance. Although it had been a minute since I saw her, I knew it was her. Even from a distance, I could see her with her head held high, I could see her walking as a women with confidence, I was not close enough to her but she is always impeccably dressed. Yet as we exchanged waves from a distance, I was amazed that her head was held high, her stride confident, her dress on point. You see early during Covid 19, she lost multiple family members; week after week after week, her famillies name filled our prayer list. She experienced Divine Disruptions.
It was only last night prior to having to attend a meeting and a class, when I was fortunate to capture part of an TBN show featuring Pastor Tony Evans and his adult children discussing a sermon and a book by Pastor Evans. The discussion I heard chronicled the tremendous loss that this family has endured to include the passing of his wife. The title of the sermon, book and last night discussion was entitled Divine Disrurptions. You see my brothers and sisters sometimes even among the most faithful of us, God does not answer our prayers the way we want. It is a Divine Disruption when we pray and our love one still passes away. It is a Divine Disruption when our job and means of taking care of ourselves is suddenly taken away. It is a Divine Disruption when the marriage or long term relationship comes to an unexpected end. What do we do when Divine Disruptions come? The answer …..
- We Remind ourselves that God is still sovereign and has all power in Hand
- We Ask God the why questions without questioning the character of God
- We Trust and know that all things work together for good to those who are called according to His purpose!
My brothers and sisters, there will come a time in all of our lives where we will have to face Divine Disruptions. When Divine Disruptions enters our lives, I encourage you to hold fast to your faith in God, know that He is the author and the finisher of our faith. His word teaches that even in the darkest of times, He will never leave us or forsake us!
