Hebrews 12:1-2

1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of ourfaith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Quickword: Finish Strong

Good morning, I pray that you and your family and friends had a blessed Thanksgiving. As we finish up the leftovers, I want to encourage us today to finish 2021 strong. We have been hit tremendously hard by COVID-19, increase inflation, continued divides in this country over Voter rights, gun control, freedom of speech, injustice in our legal system and public safety just to name a few. Beloved I want us over these next 36 days to finish the year strong!

- We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses that will testify on the goodness of God.

- We must strive to rid ourselves of any sin that keeps us from reaching our full potential.

- We should work to finish the race that is set before us with Jesus Christ as our example.

My brothers and sister’s I encourage you this morning, regardless of the challenges that we face individually and collectively to finish 2021 strong. We can finish strong by looking unto Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. We can finish strong by emulating the Faith that Jesus demonstrated as he made his way to death on Calvary’s cross. Let’s finish strong realizing that when we get weary we can call on Jesus who is with us every step of the way!
