Revelation 6:3-4

3 When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come [b]and see.” 4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

Quickword: God Still Reigns

In Revelation 6, the Apostle John while exiled to the Isle of Patmos is given visions of what is to come. Scripture is clear that one day Jesus will return and establish His earthly kingdom. Revelation is symbolic language and revelation of what is to come. One of the signs of Jesus coming will be the opening of the seals. The first seal reveals the coming of a conquering King riding on a White Horse. The Apostle John pens in our Quickword today that in his vision when the second seal was opened he heard the command to come and see. What he saw was a red horse with a rider upon it. This rider and red horse symbolizes that peace will be taken from the earth, that people would kill one another. This rider was given a great sword. According to the Global Conflict Tracker; below is a list of recent and ongoing conflicts around the world:

What I’ve presented today is not encouraging news. Yet my brothers and my sisters, I want you to know that God still reigns. God still rules and super rules ALL things on earth and in Heaven. I openly confess that I’m troubled by what’s going on in the world, but at the same time I have peace. My peace comes from knowing that no matter what unfolds, the God whom we serve Still Reigns and as children of the most high God, we will reign with Him!
