2nd Peter 1:3-7

3 His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by[b] his own glory and excellence. 4 Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust and may become participants of the divine nature. 5 For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with excellence, and excellence with knowledge,6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love.

Quickword: Growing In Faith

As we continue to stand with communities in Buffalo and Uvalde, many if not all of us are dealing with our own individual life challenges. What I’ve been reminded of over the last few days is that no matter what we face, we can make it because of our faith. We cannot only make it but when the challenges of life come, we have an opportunity to grow.

- God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him.

- God has given us His promises that we will overcome the world because of His divine nature that resides in us through faith in Him.

- Our Faith in God propels us to grow through the challenges of life.

We are facing one of if not the most challenging chapters in recent existence of America. The rise and steady growth of racial divide and political divisions. The senseless loss of life and the failure of those in power because they refuse to address gun control in fear of losing political power. The daily challenges to the rights of women, immigrants and other marginalized groups are also in the forefront. These challenges provide us opportunities to grow in our faith. Keep the faith, I believe everything is going to be alright.

Let’s Pray:,Dear God in Heaven, thank you for the privilege of allowing us to come again before your throne of grace. God, as we faced the challenges of today, help us to remain focus on you, the one who is the author and finisher of our faith. Forgive us of our sins and give us the faith to continue to grow stronger in your word. This is our prayer in Jesus name. Amen
