Psalms 103:13 As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear.

Quickword: Happy Father’s Day!

On this Father’s Day the words of the Psalmist remind us of the compassion of the Lord. Compassion is defined as sympathetic pity or concern for those who suffer. The Psalmist uses the imagery of the compassion of a Father towihis children, likewise in the same manner the Lord has compassion for those of us who fear him. In other words, the Lord shows compassion upon those of us who reverence Him. Today, we say wish a Happy Father’s Day to every man who has been given the great honor and privilege to be a Father. We say Happy Father’s Day to those who have biological children, to those who adopted children, those who have are Stepdad or bonus Dads. May the compassion, peace and favor of God rest not only on you today but in the days to come. To those Fathers who have transition from this life to life eternal, many of us today are remembering the blessing that you were and continue to be in our lives. I thank God for my Father, Willie J. Spann and my maternal grandfather John Ross who both now rest with Lord. We honor and remember you today!

Let’s Pray: Dear God in Heaven we thank you for the hurts of Fathers. We thank you for the compassion and love poured over their children. Now God, we thank you for being our Heavenly Father who never leaves or forsakes us. God, be with every Father today as only you can. Please grant unto them the desires of their hearts according to your will and your way on this day in the name of Jesus. Amen.
