Mark 4: 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Quick Word: “He Still Speaks To Storms: This morning, the Gulf Coast is preparing for the impacts that Hurricane Ida, a projected Category 4 Hurricane that’s forecasted to make landfall within the next 24-36 hours. Some 16 years ago parts of this same area were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina along with its devastation of property and loss of life also exposed a number of other issues to include economic disparity, the lack of preparedness of local, state and National leaders/governments and the lack of value placed on the lives of people of color. Here we are again and not much has changed. Yet, this text offers us words of warnings and a word of encouragement: in your leisure read Mark 4:35-41

- The Storms of life are inevitable, they will come and they come quickly.

- The Storms of life come and when they arrive they bring potentially great devastation.

- The Storms of life come, but Jesus still speaks to the Storms and brings peace.

Dear God in Heaven, we pray for those persons who are in the path of this coming storm. We especially pray for those who do not have the financial means to leave the area. God I ask today that you watch over and protect them all but especially the most vulnerable in the path of this storm. God, I come boldly before your throne of Grace because I know You still speaks to physical storms and also the Storms in our lives. This is thy servants prayer in the name of Jesus, Amen!
