Luke 19:37-40

37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying:

“ ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!’Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

39 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”

40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Quickword: I don't need the Rocks to cry out for me!

After the disciples of Jesus heeded His instructions to bring to him a colt to ride upon; The crowds began to shout with a loud voice " ‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! ’Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” The Praise upset the Pharisees to the point the said to Jesus, Teacher rebuke your disciples. Jesus responded to the Pharisees request by telling them, if the people would keep quiet the stones would cry out. My brothers and sisters when we come in to the presence of God, it requires a response.

"Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! ’Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

- The Presence of God should cause us to praise

- The Praise of God from the people of God causes his enemies to try to silence them

- The Presence and Power simply of who Jesus is; if the people of God are silent, the stones (rocks) will cry out.

Perhaps you have heard the phrase, I don't need any rocks to cry out for me. As the Children of God, saved by the love of Jesus Christ, not a day should pass that we don't cryout about the Lord's goodness and mercy. This text reminds us that because if who the Lord is, if we remain silent, the rocks will cry out and give Him glory. The Lord has been too good to me and my family for me to be silent, so in this space on this day, I lift up my voice because the Lord is Worthy to be Praised! I don't need any rocks to cryout for me.
