John 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Quickword: It’s His Love For Me

A number of years ago I had the great privilege to Pastor the Sagamihara Gospel Chapel while station at Camp Zama Japan. I remember teaching a lesson on John 3:16 and Deacon William Donald saying to me, don’t stop at 16, go on to verse 17. It was my memory of that encounter that this mornings Quickword is birthed! It’s His Love for me. Simply stated, when I think about God’s love for me, that’s enough. If God does not do anything else, He has already done enough. It’s His Love for me, in His Love is Grace and Mercy, in His Love is Compassion and Correction, In His Love is Joy and Hope, in His love is everything that we need: The Love of God is…

- The Redemption of all of Humanity!

- The Greatest Gift of all time!

- The Blessing of being in communion with God!

Yet this text although eschatological also is ever present; we don’t have to wait unto the end, because of God’s love, we have the blessings of being grafted into the family of God. Because of His Love we have become the Sons and Daughters of the most High God. It’s His love for me, He loves us so much that He looks beyond all of faults and sees our every need. It’s His love for me, that while we were yet sinners He gave His only begotten Son that we might have life and life more abundantly. It’s His love for me, that reminds me how incredibly blessed we are serve a God who gave us His very best. It’s His love for me, I pray that you have a Terrific Tuesday!
