Isaiah 1:16-17

16 “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil,

17 Learn to do good;Seek justice,Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless,Plead for the widow.

This week in an a Quickword post, I shared that I was physically, mentally and spiritually tired. The verdict In Wisconsin, the racist overtones in Georgia and the tone deaf remarks of several of my professional colleagues only added to my level of fatigue. The prophet Isaiah in Chapter 1, verses 16-17 gives us a framework of what I believe are the steps the nation must take in order to be healed.

- Wash ourselves from the stains of sin

- Put away the evil doings before God’s eyes

- Make an effort to cease doing evil

- Learn to do Good

- Seek Justice

- Rebuke the oppressor

- Defend the fatherless

- Plead for the widow

i don‘t know if as a country we will ever get to a place of a more perfect Union. I know any change that takes place will be as a result of the power of a Divine God. I asked those of you who confess Jesus as Lord and Savior to join me in prayer for our nation. 2nd Chronicles 7:14 calls us to pray “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”. I cry out this morning, Lord heal the land!
