Psalms 86:6-7

6 Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;

And attend to the voice of my supplications.

7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For You will answer me.

Quickword: Lord, Hear our prayer!

The 86th Psalm is a prayer of David. We know King David to be a man after God’s own heart. This description of David is not based on a flawless character or lifestyle. David like you and I was flawed, yet we can learn from the David, the need to petition God at all times to include when trouble is present.

- God is always available to hear our prayers.

- God has the authority and autonomy to attend to our supplications.

- God will answer our cries in times of trouble.

Individually and collectively many of us are calling out to God in our time of distress. Our distress could be the result of the recent loss of a love one, a serious illness that you or a love one is currently facing, perhaps there is some other challenge that you are facing. Take comfort in knowing that the Lord hears our prayer.

Let’s Pray:

Eternal God our Father, we humbly come before your throne of Grace. Lord, in our times of trouble, please hear our prayer. We come knowing that you can meet our every need. Lord, hear our prayer, have you way in our lives in the name of Jesus.
