Romans 10:1-4

1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for [a]Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

Quickword: My Heart‘s Desire

Last week I was fortunate to travel to the East Coast accompanying my wife while she participated in a work shop. During this three state visit, as typical for this time of the year, stores and some yards were decorated to celebrate halloween. Even as we returned to our neighborhood on yesterday, several yards have extensive displays for tonight’s activities. To counter this, many religious organizations sponsor outlets that give families an opportunity to come together and fellowship in a fall festival or harvest festival. During my travels one church i noticed had scheduled a vax- festival. This morning, I don’t want to debate the merits of whether you particpate in either halloween or a fall festival. My Hearts desire and prayer to God is that all of us will come to know Christ and be Saved!

- There is a zeal for God but not according to knowledge…

- We have established our own righteousness and not the righteousness of God….

- We have been made right with God through our personal relationship with Christ Jesus…

With the same zeal that we either participate in halloween or some other festival, let’s spread the Gospel! It’s my heart’s desire that we would take that same energy and spread the good news of Jesus Christ. The one thing I have going for myself is that I know I am a sinner saved by grace. We all have sinned and falling short of the glory of God. That’s my message today, my hearts desire is that all of us will come to know Jesus and the power of his life, death and resurrection and be saved.
