Psalms 107:1-2a

1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

2a Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

Quickword: Oh Give Thanks To The Lord!

As we enter into this week of thanksgiving, I simply want to pause and give thanks unto the Lord. To give thanks is to express gratitude to another entity for what they have done! In this case our thanks is unto the Lord. I don’t have anything fancy in this Quickword but I‘m led this morning just to offer thanks unto the Lord. Here in Psalms 107, the psalmist is giving the Lord praise. Sometimes when there is only you, whether it’s early in morning or late at night, we need to find a place to offer the Lord gratitude and express our appreciation for all He has done for us. The psalmist implores us to give God thanks because…

- The Lord Is Good!

- The Lord’s Mercy Endures forever!

- The Lord is Good and His Mercy Endures forever, The Redeemed of the Lord say so!

I’m find myself like the psalmist this morning. I just want to Give Thanks unto the Lord because He is Good. I don’t have enough space in this post to tell you all the things that the Lord has done, so I simply give the Lord thanks because He is Good. I give thanks unto the Lord not only because He is good, but because His mercy endures forever. I used up all of yesterday’s mercies and today He extends new mercies and His mercy endures forever. Here is where if you join me, my thanksgiving praise moves from individual praise into corporate praise. The psalmist says, Let the Redeemed of the Lord say so. I know I’m not the only one whothe Lord has been good too, I know I’m not the only one who the Lord’s mercies have been extended to. I know I’m not the only one who has been redeemed. So today, if you know you have been Redeemed, say so! If you know you been saved, bought with the broken body and shed blood of a resurrected Savior. Oh, give thanks unto the Lord, let the redeemed say so!
