Quickword: Oh Give Thanks Unto the Lord pt.4

On this day we set aside as a day of Thanksgiving! I pause this morning to just thank God for His presence. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday; no not just because of the food😂. It has always been a time at least in my experiences to spend time with family and friends and to be thankful for the blessings of Lord. Today is no different, as I reflect back over the years, so many of those persons whom I shared this day with now rest with the Lord. From my Mother, whom I would sit down with after I arrived at home from some distance military station most of the time after midnight; we would share a quick snack and talk at the dining room table. From my wife’s grandmother, Deacon Evelyn Jones who would meet me in the kitchen for some sweet potato pie at 3 or 4 am when I’d be jet lagged from coming in from an overseas assignment. From my Dad, who would always have to make an early morning Thanksgiving run and would take me with him, usually so he could help someone in need over the holidays. Although they are no longer here, I thank God for precious memories. This year as always, I’m thankful for my amazing wife as every year, she makes this day special. I’m looking forward to gathering with a few friends who are more like family later today in our annual Thanksgiving gathering ( vaccination required) as last year, we did not meet because of Covid. Yet this year as I look back with precious memories and with anticipation of today, I thankful for the presence of the Lord. Y’all don’t know a good shouting moment…The Lord has been present when I’ve been up and when I’ve been down. The Lord has been faithful to His word that He will never leave us or forsake us.

- I’m thankful for His presence in year’s gone by!

- I’m thankful for His presence in the days to come!

- I’m thankful for His presence right now!

Oh, give thanks unto the Lord for His presence! From our family to yours,

Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy the presence of your family and friends and be thankful for the presence of the Lord!
