Psalms 121:3-6

3 He will not allow your foot to [a]be moved;

He who keeps you will not slumber.

4 Behold, He who keeps Israel

Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your [b]keeper;

The Lord is your shade at your right hand.

6 The sun shall not strike you by day,

Nor the moon by night

Quickword: Our Help Part 2

The Psalmist in Psalm 121 in the opening verses reminds us that our help comes from the Lord. He encourages us to look to the hills in our times of trouble. The text shifts in verses 3-6 and lays out what occurs when we trust in the Lord. The text reminds us that the Lord will not let us fall, that the Lord never sleeps or slumbers but the protector is always awake. The text reminds us that even when we don’t see Himthe Lord is by our side. The Psalmist continues and remind us that not even the sun will hurt us doing the day nor the moon during the night. Beloved it, we can take courage in the fact that the Lord, Our Help, will not let us fall, that Our Help never sleeps nor slumbers, that our Help protects from all things under the sun and the moon. Our Help us with us.

Let’s Pray:

Eternal God our Father, we paused this morning to simply thank you for being our Help, our ever present protector. God we thank you for being by our sides when life is well and d being by our sides when we walk through the valleys of life. God we thank you for protecting us and our families from dangers seen and unseen, God we thank you for you constant watch over us even when we stray from your will and your way. God as we rise this day, we thank you for watching over us while we sleep. Thank you for your protection and constant presence in our lives. God, we give you name all the honor and glory, for you are worthy to be praised. This is our prayer in the name of Jesus, Amen!
