Acts 16: 25-26

25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Quickword: Praise At Midnight!

My brother’s and sister’s there will come a time in all of our lives where we will become prisoners to the circumstances of life. We will be chained by grief as a result of the loss of a loved one. We will be shackled by sin. We will be detained by our own human desires. We may even be imprisoned figuratively as a result of serving God. This is where we find the two main characters in today’s text. Paul and Silas have been arrested as a result of casting out a spirit of divination from a young girl. This power possessed by this young girl was used to make money for the powers to be. When Paul cast this spirit out of this young girl, it cut off the money that was being made off of her ability to fortune tell. This resulted in Paul and Silas being placed in prison.

- The loss of ill gain money, power and influence will always lead to trouble.

- The burden of ministry can lead to us being confined by the world.

- The midnight hour can become a time of praise snd worship. Praises unto God will set us free!

During their midnight hour in prison, instead of a pity party, Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns. I don’t know what has you bound today but I’m a witness that if you open your heart, lift up your hands and offer praise, the Spirit of the living God will set you free. Midnight is symbolic of the darkest times in our lives, so imagine the power of the Holy Spirit that falls upon us when we can lift praises unto God at midnight. Paul and Silas prayed and a great earthquake came and open the prison doors and everyone’s prison chains were loosen and fell off. Y’all don’t know when to shout! When we offer praise unto God, not only are we set free but those in our proximity receive the fallout of our praise and are also set free. Even as you read this post, you maybe in your midnight hour, I encourage you no matter what you maybe going through , regardless of what has yiu bound, lift praises unto God and I just believe he will set you free even at midnight!
