Matthew 11:28-29

28 Come to Me , all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am[a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Quickword: Rest for a Weary Soul

This morning Quickword comes from a very familiar passage of scripture, Matthew 11:28-29. I confess that as I prepare to start another day my soul is weary. I am sure I'm not alone as many of us are dealing with situations and circumstances that places a heavy burden upon our shoulders. Today, I’m seeking rest and the one place I find rest is in the presence of our Lord and SaviorJesus Christ.

- There comes a time in all of our lives that we need to confess that the load is heavy.

- There is a promise of rest for our souls when we take our cares and concerns to Jesus.

- The rest comes from being yoked to Him, this connection allows Him to help carrry the load .

- The connection to Jesus gives us renewal and a blessed quietness.

Let’s Pray:

Dear God in Heaven, I (we) come to you because of our labor and heavy burdens. You know what we stand in need of and what we are up against today. We come taking your yoke in order to connect with you. We thank you in advance for the renewal, peace, strength and blessed quietness in the name of Jesus. Amen
