Ephesians 6:10-13

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Quickword: Stand

Here in Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus, the sage apostle leaves some encouraging words for the church that hold universal truths for us today. This text reveals to us that our struggles are not against humanity but against spiritual wickedness. We are encouraged to put on the whole armor of God. When we are clothed with the full armor of God we can stand against everything the enemy throws at us. My beloved sisters and brothers, as you go through this day and the challenges that this day will hold, make sure your armor is on so that we can withstand in these evil days, and after we done all we can, stand. The good news is that while we are dressed in the armor of God, we can stand in His presence , His, power and His promises. God promise never to leave or forsake us.

Let’s pray: Dear God in Heaven, we come before you this morning acknowledging that you are the sovereign God. We have put on your armor knowing that the enemy will come at us to kill, steal and destroy. God we thank you even now for the victory we have against all that shall come against us even today in the name of Jesus! Amen.
