!Psalms 126: 2-3
2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the [b]nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
3 The Lord has done great things for us,
And we are glad.
Quickword: Take Time To Celebrate
Yesterday morning during the monthly meeting of ministers of the church where I serve on staff, our Pastor shared a word that resonated with me and provided encouragement for what I would encounter the remainder of the day. Paraphrasing, he simply stated with the challenges of life that we all face, we need to take time to celebrate. We should celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, promotions, the birth of children, graduations, sobriety milestones and good Dr’s reports. Life is fragile as I received word later on yesterday that a dear friend and colleague loss another love one, the fourth one in a relative short period of time. Others that I’m connected with are dealing with Covid 19. Still others are dealing with the recent or not so recent death of a love one. Another Psalm encourages us to bless the Lord at all times and I understand that sentiment but today I want to encourage you at that next milestone to celebrate. Psalms 126 tells us to:
- Fill our mouths with laughter and singing
-Let it be known throughout the land what the Lord has done.
- Celebrate, we are glad for the great things the Lord has done for you and I.
Throughout the year we will celebrate special days and special occasions. I want to encourage you to celebrate as often as you can. Celebrate not only the positive things in your life but join others as they celebrate their special days. I know there are many who today may find it hard to celebrate due to the current circumstances and situations that you face even now. I encourage you to hold on, God knows where you are and what you are going through. I promise you in due season, God will turn weeping into laughter, God will turn pain into pleasure, God will turn defeat into victory. My brothers and sisters as often as you can celebrate, enjoy the blessings of family and friends. Most importantly, take time to celebrate the victory that we have as a result in being in relationship with Jesus Christ. If you don’t know Him, get to know to know Him today; He loves you more than you can imagine.
