Habakkuk2:2-3
2 Then the Lord answered me and said:
Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.
Quickword: Tarry Until My Change Comes!
I recently flew back to the East Coast for a few days. When I arrived at the airport, parked, retrieved my bags from my car and headed toward the terminal, I received a text message from the airline that my flight was delayed. When I received the message, I was a little disappointed as I was eagerly waiting to meet my family; yet because of the delay, I didn’t return to my car, load up my bags, leave the airport and abort my trip. The example may seem a little drastic but I’m witnessing people who are aborting their visions when in reality your time is only delayed.
- Don’t allow a temporary delay to abort the vision that God has for you.
- What God has for you it is for you, yet it comes at the appointed timing set by God.
- Rest assured, the promises that God has on your life, beloved it, they may tarry but they surely will come.
Today I just want to encourage someone who is ready to abandon your dreams because they have been delayed to just tarry. Tarry is more than waiting, tarring requires us to stay somewhere longer than we meant to stay, tarry requires us to stay in place. When we wait, it’s until something happens or someone shows up, but when we tarry, we stay regardless of who or what shows up PATIENTLY. My beloved brother, my strong sister, I see you, I’ve been in your shoes, I’ve walked in your path, matter of fact, I find myself today in a state of Tarrying, but I’m staying where I am because I know what God has for me is only delayed, I know it’s not denied and at the appointed time, I’m going to live out my destiny. I’ve made up my mind, I’m going to Tarry unto my change comes!
Let’s Pray: Dear God in Heaven I thank you for always being an on time God. God I ask that you give myself and others the patience needed to tarry and to not allow our impatience to abort what you have for us. God I come before you this morning believing that what you have for me is for me. God I thank you for what you have already done in my life and the life of others. I pray that you continue to lead and guide us into a more intimate and intentional relationship with you. Thank you for the gift of grace and mercy in the name of Jesus.Amen
Yes I will wait on the Lord. For I know what’s for me is for me. I trust God. Amen.
