The Lord’s name endures forever!

Psalms 102:12 But You, O Lord, shall endure forever, And the remembrance of Your name to all generations.

I am a huge sports fan and in my spare time, I enjoy reminiscing with my friends and sometimes even strangers of the players who I grew up watching, theirnames evoke great memories.

In baseball, the names Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson, Johnny Bench and Pete Rose come to mind, in basketball there was Julius Erving ( Dr. J), George Gervin (The Iceman) and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, in football there was Walter Payton, Earl Campbell, Ed “too Tall Jones, Lynn Swann, in tennis, Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors...I could go to name many others who I had the great privilege to watch and enjoy. The conversations with my friends inevitability turned into a debate about which athletes regardless of generations is the greatest of all time. Although the names of these great athletes invoke great memories, there is a name that is above every name, a name that will endure forever:

As we remember 9-11 this weekend, endure the continuing surge of Covid-19 and the political division among leaders and politicians at all levels. The name is Jesus and the Lord‘s name will endure forever.
