Acts: 8: 4-8

4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to [a]the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.

Quickword: The Power of the Preached Word

As a result of the persecution of the church, many of the believers were scattered and went everywhere preaching the Word. Philip went into the City of Samaria and preached Christ to them. After hearing the word, the people of Samaria heeded the word and we on one accord after seeing the miracles in which he did.

- The power of preached word led to unclean spirits being cast out.

- The power of the preached word led to the paralyzed and the lame being healed.

- The power of the preached word will bring joy joy to all who will hear and heed.

This morning I’m grateful for those who have answered the call to preach the good news of Jesus Christ. The power of the preach word can turn darkness into light. The power of the preached word can can turn sadness into joy, pain into pleasure. The preached word can lift up a bowed down head and heal a broken heart. The preach word can set the captives free. Philip preached and the city of Samaria was filled with great joy. There is power in the Preached Word!
