The Sixth Seal

Revelation 6:12-17

12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake.The sun turned black like sackclothmade of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free,hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us[f]from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their[g] wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

If you have been following this week with me, Revelation chapter 6, we have been examining the impacts of the opening of the seals. The text explained that the opening of seals one - four detailed the judgements upon the earth from the Antichrist. When the 5th seal was opened, the martyrs or people of God are crying out to God to avenge what has happened unto them. In this sixth seal, there is a shift from the cries of avenge us from the children of God to now the cries of unbelievers from the judgments that are coming from the supernatural or heaven. - Nature itself will be impacted( the sun turns black, the moon turned red, the stars fall from earth, the heavens recede and the mountains and islands are removed) by the judgement of Heaven.

- All of unsaved humanity will be impacted, regardless of status in life , they will try and hide from the anguish of the judgement.

- When the sixth seal is open, there will be no hiding places.

There is a great distinction between those believers when the fifth seal is opened and the unbelievers in the sixth seal. One group calls to be avenged from the almighty, while the latter group seeks to hide from the Lamb of God. When the time comes, it will be too

late to get ready. Simply stated my beloved brothers and sisters, stay ready for the return of the savior because when the sixth seal is opened, there will be no time to get ready.
