Psalm 118: 24 This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Quickword: This is the Day!

Psalms 118 is a word of encouragement to all of us no matter our current situation or circumstances . The Psalm opens in verse one by reminding us to give thanks unto the Lord, the Lord is good and His mercy is everlasting. The Psalmist then details the marvelous works of the Lord. The Lord hears our prayer when we are in the distress. The Lord protects us when we are surrounded by the enemy. It is the Lord who is on our side that leads to our deliverance. When we get to verse 24, there is a spontaneous praise that comes forth. This praise is birth out of the realization that through it all the Lord has blessed and granted us a brand new day. Each day of our lives is a precious gift from God; a day in which we have not seen before and a day in which we will not see again.

- This is the day that the Lord has made!!!

- This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice!

- This is the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it.

I don’t have anything profound today, but if (since) the Lord woke us up this morning, we should rejoice and be glad in it. Today is filled with opportunities to praise in the presence of the Lord. Today provides us an opportunity to look to the hills from where our help comes from. Today provides us the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not promised….This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Dear God in Heaven, we thank you for the gift and the blessings of a brand new day. We acknowledge that you are the maker and creator of all things. We know that you are the author and finisher of our faith. We thank you for this day and the opportunity to come before your presence. Thank you God for being a healer, a deliverer, a provider and a protector. Thank you God for being a comforter in our times of trouble. Thank you for this day in the name of Jesus. Amen
