This Strength Comes From God

Luke 6:27-28

27 “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.

This text pulled from the good news according to Luke early in my Christian walk was a challenge for me. You see in my humanity the instructions in the text seem counterintuitive to one‘s sanity and survival. Yet the ability to harness the need or desire to strike back at those who are intent on doing you harm strengthens your walk with Christ. This strength comes from God!

- The strength to love your enemies take a Love that only comes from God.

- The stength to do good to those who hate you comes from God.

- The strength to bless someone who curses you; the strength comes from God.

- The strength to pray for those who spitefully use you comes from God.

My beloved brothers and sisters, I’ve learned and continue to try to put into practice what the word of God places upon us. If you noticed in the text, Jesus was speaking to his followers and said unto them, if you will hear ( The Word), then there are implied actions, some of them hard to accomplish in the flesh. Yet if we will hear and apply the word of God, we will be given the strength to do all things which comes from the Lord. This Strength Comes From The Lord!
