Luke 1: 39-41

39 Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, 40 and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Quickword: What Makes You Leap?

After the angel confirmed the manner in which she would conceive a child by the Holy Spirit, Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth has been barren but the Lord has blessed her and her husband Zacharias past their child bearing age and she is now pregnant with a child who will be John the Baptist. When Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the child in womb leaped! The developing child, John the Baptist as a precursor to becoming the forerunner of Jesus lept as Mary was carrying the Christ in her womb. The Quickword today comes in the form of a question; What makes you leap?

- Being filled with the Holy Spirit will make you leap!

- Celebrating the blessings and movement of God will make you leap!

- Being in the presence of the Word (Jesus) will make you leap!

When was the last time you experience the presence of God and it made you leap? When I think about the goodness of the Lord and all that he has done for me, it makes me leap! In this advent season, understanding the Love that God has for you and I that He sent His only son to die for our sins makes me leap! It makes me leap to see people accept Jesus Christ as Lord And Savior! It makes me leap to see others blessed! What makes you leap? I pray that you have an authentic encounter with the Holy Spirit today that makes you leap.
